8-8-09 269 Walnut Ave - All Hands Dwelling

At 11:27, a box was transmitted in Bellmawr, for a reported dwelling fire with people trapped.  Camden County Communications advised responding units of fire from the 2nd floor with possible people trapped inside.  Police arrived and confirmed a working fire.  Two Police officers entered the dwelling to find 2 occupants trapped.  One trapped occupant could not get out on his own because he was wheelchair bound.  The other needed assistance with her oxygen tank .  Police were able to get both occupants out of the dwelling to awaiting EMS.  EMS treated the occupants for smoke inhalation and burns, and transported to Cooper Hospital where they were listed in serious condition.  Firefighters arrived four minutes later to find heavy fire conditions on the 2nd floor.  Crews stretched and placed a 1 ¾” hand line in operation, followed by a back up line.  Searches were negative as it was confirmed all occupants were out of the dwelling.  Several lines were placed in operation as crews opened up.  The fire was placed under control at 11:53.  No firefighter injuries were reported on the fire ground.  The Camden County Fire Marshals Office has the fire under investigation.

   

 

   

 



1-7-09 38 Summit Ave- All Hands Dwelling

 

A dwelling fire was dispatched in Bellmawr at 38 Summit Ave at 2:20 p.m.  Squad 32 and Engine 33 arrived at the same time to find a 1 ½ story single family dwelling with smoke showing.  Command struck the all hands on arrival.  Engine 33 secured a water supply as the Squad Company went in operation with a 1 ¾” hand line.  Crews found a fire conditions in the bathroom as well as in the walls.  The roof was opened up in the back as a primary search was conducted.  The fire was placed under control without any injuries.  The homeowners were working on the house by soldering the pipes in the bathroom. 

 

   

 



11-27-08 Midway Ave- Vehicle vs. house

 

 Thanksgiving evening, Bellmawr firefighters, police and EMS were dispatched to Midway for a vehicle vs. a house.  Crews arrived to find a pick up that sideswiped a parked car, cross over a front lawn and hit the corners of 2 houses.  The victim was treated by EMS and transported to the hospital.  Fire crews evaluated the damaged.  Both homeowners were not home at the time of the crash.  The Bellmawr Police have the accident under investigation. 

 



4-23-07 Dollarland Black Horse Pike - vehicle into building

 

Bellmawr’s Rescue, BLS and ALS were dispatched to the Dollarland on the Black Horse Pike in Bellmawr for a vehicle into the building.  Upon arrival crews reported a vehicle that crashed through the front of the store.  The vehicle crashed through the front and struck freezers which injured a civilian.  The injured civilian was transported by ALS and BLS to Cooper hospital.  The driver of the vehicle was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries by Runnemede EMS.   The accident is under investigation by the Bellmawr Police Department. 

 

     



12-03-05 Infront of Post Office - M.V.A. Rescue

 Rescue units were dispatched for a report of an MVA around 2 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2005, amid freezing temperatures. Command arrived to find a moving truck versus a Sundance head-on collision, with one occupant trapped. The rescue company arrived and removed the doors and roof to free the occpuant. The squad and medics transported the patient to Cooper Trauma.
