7-14-06 300 Block of Broad St. - Structural Collapse (photos and story by Greg Taylor)

At approx. 1050 Hrs Beverly Fire Department 121 and 122, along with Delranaco Rescue 2329, and EMS were dispatched to 300 Block of Broad Street for a reported structural collapse with possible entrapment.  When companies arrived they reported a 3 Story SFD that was now ½ stories.  According to residents in the area there is usually someone in the house.  The house had been the site of an all hands fire in 2001 and it was reported that they were working inside on the house to fix it up.   A special call for Camden County Rescue 1335 with their collapse unit was made to respond.  Additional calls were also made to NJ State Police for their Search Dogs to attempt to locate the possible subject in the rubble.  Crews are still operating at the scene at this time stabilizing the structure and searching for a cause as to why the house collapsed.  Additional crews are also being called to the scene due to the extreme heat and humidity for relief purposes.
