8-16-07 200 block of Charlann Circle- Dwelling (Pictures and Story by Cherry Hill Fire Department)
Firefighters responded to a reported house fire in the 200 block of Charlann Circle off Springdale Road.
Firefighters, from Ladder 44, were on location within one minute and reported a heavy fire condition on the first floor in a converted garage/office, and they could see it was already extending throughout the dwelling and to the second floor. At the same time,fire dispatchers alerted them there were receiving reports a person was trapped in the home.
Squrt 31 & Squad 13 pulled two 1 3/4 handlines fire already started out the front door as well as moving up the steps. Ladder companies 44 and 24 vented and immediately began a primary search and rescue for the reported trapped victims.
Firefighters quickly brought this fire under control within twenty-five minutes. This fire is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Fire Marshal's Office.

5-28-07 NJ Turnpike - M.V.A Rescue (Story and Photos by Cherry Hill Fire Department)
Squad 13, Squad 75, BLS3 ALS44 were dispatched for a MVA NJ Turnpike 27.7 Northbound. Prior to arrival county updated the box to a rescue assignment which then added Rescue 13. Upon arrival Squad 13 found a vehicle in the trees off the roadway with two patients in the vehicle. Rescue 13 was staged at Howard Johnson's Rest Area and were advised to enter the highway. The two were extricated with minor injuries. The car was secured by Rescue 13 while Squad 75 assisted with the placement of foam.

4-7-07 Cherry Hill Mall - Bomb Scare - Story and Photos by Bob Chester
At 15:42 hours the Cherry Hill Fire Department, BLS, and ALS were dispatched to a report of an explosion at the Cherry Hill Mall complex. Responding apparatus were advised that the explosion reportedly occurred in the JC Penny's wing. Engine 1352 and HAZMAT 13 arrived and set - up forward command while Battalion 1303 arrived and set up unified command in the parking lot. After recon it was determined that a water bottle exploded and that there was no injuries.Cherry Hill Police,Camden County Bomb Squad,Cherry Hill SWAT team, Camden County Fire Marshals Office, and the Department of Environmental Protection were all on scene. The incident remains under investigation.

3-4-07 1006 Route 70- Chilis - 2nd alarm (story and Photos by Greg Taylor
At approx 0610Hrs., Firefighters from the CHFD’s Ladder 13-24, Engine 13-22, Engine 13-52, Station 13-7, Battalion 1303 and CHFD EMS were dispatched to 1906 W. Route 70 at the Chili’s Restaurant and Bar on the morning of March 4th 2007 for a reported building fire. Ladder Co. 13-24 arrived with medium smoke showing from Side Alpha. Upon positioning the apparatus company officer reported they now had visible fire showing on the interior of the building and to have Engine 13-22 lay in to the fire and go into operation with an 1 ¾ handline. Battalion 1303 arrived and requested the All Hands struck which brought Squrt 13-31, Ladder 13-44, Additional EMS unit and Rehab 13-8 to the scene as additional apparatus and RIT. Command reported that all personnel were being evacuated from the building due to HVAC units collapsing into the interior of the structure along with roof collapse. Companies began to secure additional water supplies for the Ladder Companies and for portable monitors. Crews were hampered due to extreme wind conditions that partially led to the fire spread on the interior of the building. Command 1300 requested 2nd Alarm to be struck which brought Engine 11-31, Burlington Co. Engine 22-12, Squad 13, and Ladder 14-1. Command requested Squad 13 to lay out from the fire to a hydrant opposite of the building on Route 70. At the height of the fire there was approx 2 Ladder Companies in operation, 1 Squrt, 3 Portable Monitors and Several Handlines in the attempt to extinguish the fire. Companies made an attempt to stop the fire spread to a neighboring business the Porterhouse Steak Restaurant. But with the wind and explosions within the interior of the building, the fire spread to the remainder of the building. Command requested 2 additional Engine Companies into staging, which brought Burlington Co. Engine 10-13 and Engine 14-12. As of 1010 Hrs Command reported he still had Multiple Master streams in operation with pockets of heavy fire in the Delta side of the building. At 1015 Hrs Command 1300 placed the fire under control. The fire is under investigation by the Cherry Hill FM’s Office and also to be reported there were no civilian or firefighter injuries as of the time of this article.

2-14-07 - Route 38- Longwood Ave - M.V.A Rescue (Story and Photos by Cherry Hill Fire Department)
On Wed. Febuary 14 at 1115 hrs. the Cherry Hill FD was dispatched to Rt.38 and Longwood Ave for a Motor Vehicle Accident w/ entrapment. Responding on the rescue box was Engine 1352, Squad 13, Battalion 1303, BLS 1392 & 1395, & ALS 44. E52 arrived to find a vehicle vs. a pole w/ 1 pinned. E52 completed stabilization and went into operation w/ hydraulics. Patient was extricated and turned over to EMS, transported to Cooper-Trauma. Additinal patients were transported w/ minor injuries.

2-7-07 800 Springdale Rd. - All Hands Dwelling (Story and Photos by Bob Chester)
At 3:30 AM the Cherry hill Fire Department was dispatched to 800 Springdale Road for a report of a dwelling fire. First due Ladder 1344 arrived on location to find heavy fire in the living room of a dwelling that sits off the roadway some 200 feet. Engine 1331 arrived and laid a 4" supply line. Squad 13 went in operation with additional. The all hands box was transmitted, with this Engine 1322 and Ladder 1324 were added. Engine 1322 was assigned water supply, while 1324 entered the main drive way to set up for what was now a defensive operation. At the height of the fire several elevated master streams and numerous 2 1/2 " were in operation. There were no reports on injuries. The Cherry Hill Fire Marshals Office and the Camden County Fire Marshals Office are investigating for the origin and cause of the fire.

1-27-07 Route 70 & Greentree Rd. - M.V.A Resuce Assignment
Cherry Hill units were dispatched for a M.V.A Rescue Assignment at Route 70 and Greentree Road around 730 pm. Battalion 13 arrived and reported an overturned vehicle, on top of another vehicle, with one victim trapped. Rescue 13 went in operation upon arrival.Crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and extricated the victim. The patient was transported to the hospital with ALS and BLS treating.

12-10-06 15 Ambler Road - Dwelling (Story and Picture by Greg Taylor)
Firefighters from The Cherry Hill Fire Department were dispatch to 15 Ambler Road at approx 1730 Hrs for a reported dwelling fire. Calls received were for fire showing from the rear of a possible vacant home. Companies dispatched were Eng 1352, 1322, Lad 1324, EMS 1392, and Batt 1303. Eng 1352 arrived to find a 2 1/2 story SFD wood frame with heavy fire showing from side 3. Companies attacked the fire with 2 1 3/4 handlines and opened up to stop the spread of fire. Eng 1332 was dispatched along with Lad 1344 and Cascade 1375. Command reported fire was placed under control at approx. 1750 Hours. No injuries were reported at the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the CHFD FM office.

9-21-06 1920 Old Cuthbert Rd. - Building Fire
Engine 1363 was dispatched to 1920 Old Cuthbert Rd. for a request to do an investigation on September 21, around 9 p.m. Police arrived on location and reported fire through the roof at the Presbyterian Church. The assignment was upgraded, filling out the box. Engine 1363 arrived and reported fire not to be through the roof, but did have a fire condition on the roof. Ladder 1344 arrived and the crew raised ladders as well as the aerial. Engine 1363's crew found plywood and other roofing materials to be burning. Crews stretched a handline and placed it into operation. Engine 1322 arrived and secured a water supply. Ladder 1324 was special called to the scene. Crews worked to extinguish the blaze and to open the roof. The church was ventilated with two positive pressure fans. A report was given that work has been being performed earlier during the day in that location of the church. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation by Camden County Fire Marshals and the Cherry Hill Fire Dept.

7-5-06 1240 Brace Rd.- M.V.A Rescue
Cherry Hill units were dispatched for an accident infront of 1240 Brace Road on July 5, 2006. The BLS unit arrived to find a 2 car head on crash with 2 patients heavily pinned. Another BLS unit, 2 ALS units and Recue 1335 were added to the box.Engine 1322 worked to stabalize the vehicle while the Rescue went in service with the tools. Both patients were extricated and transported to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden City by 1396, 1392 along with Medic 44, 41 The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Department.

05-30-06 631 Jefferson Ave - All Hands Dwelling Fire with Rescue
Units were dispatched to 631 Jefferson Ave for a dwelling fire with a report of people trapped on May 30, 2006 around 4pm. Crews from 2's house arrived to find a 2 1/2 story with heavy fire showing from the 1st floor. Crews made an aggressive interior attack to find heavy fire conditions on the first floor. One victim was quickly removed from the dwelling around the 10 minute mark. ALS and BLS transported the victim to an area hospital. Searches were performed to confirm no other occupants were in the dwelling. The fire was placed under control around the 20 minute mark. No firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals Office and Cherry Hill Fire Marshals.

09-05-05 Car Fire
CHERRY HILL, NJ - Engine 1352 was dispatched for a report of a power line down on a vehicle on September 5, 2005.
Engine Company arrived to find a vehicle fully-involved with the power line still across it.
An additional engine company was requested by 1352 to respond and directed to establish a water supply. PSEG was requested to expedite their response.
PSEG secured the power as 1352 extinguished the blaze without injuries.

09-04-05 515 Northwood Ave All Hands
Cherry Hill fire units were dispatched for a report of a dwelling fire at 515 Northwood Avenue around 3 p.m., on September 4.
Arriving on location, 1352 found heavy fire and smoke showing from the attic area of a 1.5-story structure.
Crews went into service with an inch-and-three-quarter handline. Crews made an aggresive interior attack, quickly taking out the fire.

07-28-05 Rt. 70 - Springdale Rd. - M.V.A. Rescue
Shortly after 10am, ALS and BLS were dispatched for a MVA at Route 70 and Springdale. ALS arrived to find a car broadsided by a dump truck with the occupant in the car trapped. A rescue assignment box was requested and dispatched. Crews worked to remove the driver side front and rear door. The roof was removed and the dashboard was displaced. Crews freed the occupant around the 35 minute mark. ALS and BLS transported the patient to Cooper Trauma. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

05-03-05 12 Washington Street. - Dwelling
Cherry Hill units were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 12 Washington Ave. Engine 1322 arrived to find smoke showing from the 2nd floor of a 2 story single family dwelling. Crews stretched an 1 3/4 handline to find fire conditions on the 2nd floor with heavy smoke throughout. 1324 arrived and performed ventilation as 1352 picked up waster supply. The occupant was able to escape without harm. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The occupant is seeking services by the Red Cross.
