12-16-07 Lancaster Ave - Tree vs. House
At 5:30 a.m the Doylestown Fire Department was called to Lancaster Ave for a tree that struck a house.Crews arrived to find a large tree that ripped through the side of the dwelling.The occupants were home and sleeping at the time of the incident. They stated the tree fell in their child’s room that was sleeping in the crib. The tree crashed though the roof and side walls totally gutting that room. The mother stated she woke up and ran into the room to find the child unharmed by the wreck. The crib was covered in insulation but did not harm to the child. The incident happened in the middle of a storm which rolled through the area, pouring sleet and snow on the town. Crews were also called to several other locations for down trees and wires.
