12-16-07 146 New Jersey- 3 dwellings involved
At 301 a dwelling fire was dispatched in Fortescue at 164 New Jersey. Companies arrived to find a 2 story dwelling with heavy fire conditions. While companies were pulling lines the fire was extending to exposures powered by 20 mile per hour winds. Command reported 2 dwellings were fully involved and fire spreading to a 3rd. Companies gained entry into the 3rd and went in operations with hand lines. Companies made and interior attack on the 3rd dwelling as master streams were set up for the 1st two dwellings. Multiple mutual aid companies were called in for tanker operations. Fortescue’s Chief reported 2 dwellings were a total loss while the 3rd had major fire damage. The Chief reported the high winds powered the fire and caused it to extend quickly. The fire was placed under control 2 hours into the job.The owners were not home in the dwelling which the fire started in.No injuries were reported on the fire ground.
