6-21-09 264 Jefferson Ave- All Hands Dwelling

At 10:40 a dwelling fire was reported in Haddonfield at 264 Jefferson Ave.  The resident reported smoke coming from the basement and could see flames.  Companies arrived to find a 2 ½ story single family dwelling with smoke showing.  Command struck the all hands.  Companies stretched a 1 ¾” hand line to the basement to find fire conditions.  2 lines were placed in operation as a primary search was performed. Crews knocked the bulk of the fire down and opened up to check for extension.  The fire was placed under control with no reported injuries at the 30 minute mark.

   



4-3-09 414 Loucroft Rd. - All Hands Dwelling

 

At  6:51 p.m. Task Force 14(Haddonfield, Haddon Heights, Cherry Hill) were dispatched for a dwelling fire at 414 Loucroft Rd in Haddonfield.  Haddonfield’s Chief arrived and reported a 1 ½ story single family dwelling with heavy smoke coming from the attached garage.  The all hands was sounded bringing in another Engine Company from Cherry Hill and Westmont’s Rescue as the RIT.  Haddonfield’s Engine arrived with Cherry Hill’s Ladder as crews forced entry into the garage.  Once entry was gained crews found a vehicle well involved inside the garage. Companies led off with a 1 ¾” hand line to perform foam operations.  Companies checked for extension once the fire was knocked down.  The fire did not extend into the dwelling.  The fire was placed under control without any injuries to firefighters.  Companies operating on location were Haddonfield, Cherry Hill, Haddon Heights, and Westmont.  The Camden County Fire Marshals Office has the fire under investigation.

 

   

 

 



11-10-08 West End Ave- M.V.A Rescue

 

At 5:55 p.m, Haddonfield Police, EMS and Engine Company were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident at West End Ave and Euclid.  Police arrived and reported a two vehicle accident with one occupant trapped in the vehicle.  The Rescue Company and an additional BLS both from Westmont, along with the Medic Unit were added to the assignment.  Westmont’s Rescue worked with Haddonfield’s Engine Companies to remove both doors on the driver side of the vehicle to free the trapped occupant.  The occupant was extricated at the 20 minute mark.  ALS and BLS crews treated and transported the injured occupant.  Haddonfield Police have the accident under investigation.

 

   



10-19-07 340 Kings Highway - 3rd Alarm Dwelling

 

On October 19, 2007 Task Force 14 (Haddonfield) was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 340 Kings Highway at 930 pm.  Police arrived on location and reported a basement fire with all occupants out. Haddonfield Command arrived and reported a 2 ½ story wood frame dwelling with heavy smoke showing.  Companies led off with a 2 ½ hand line.  Crews reported heavy fire conditions in the basement with fire extending through the walls.  The 2nd alarm was sounded.  Crews battled limited access to the basement with conditions worsening.  Shortly into the job crews reported heavy fire on the first floor with a floor collapse in the C – D side of the dwelling.  At that time evacuation tones were sounded.  Command reported heavy fire conditions on the 1st floor and 2nd floor and shortly after through the roof.  The 3rd Alarm was struck for manpower well into the job.  No firefighter injuries were reported.  The owner stated he attempted to extinguish the blaze himself prior to calling.The fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals Office.

 

   

 

 



8-29-07  73 Center St- All Hands Dwelling

 

 

Around 1030 pm on Wednesday August 29, 2007 a box was dispatched in Haddonfield for a reported dwelling fire at 73 Center Street.  Police arrived and reported fire in the rear room of the dwelling with all occupants evacuated.  Chief 1401 arrived and reported a 3 story wood frame  dwelling, 25x50 with a working fire. Command struck the all hands.  Crews went in operation with a 1 ¾” hand line to find heavy fire conditions in Division C with fire extending to the 2nd floor.  A 2nd 1 ¾” hand line was placed in operation to quickly knock down the blaze.  Crews opened up and checked for extension as Command placed the fire under control.No injuries were reported on the fire ground.  The Camden County Fire Marshals were called to the scene. 

 

 



3-21-07 - Kings Highway - All Hands Building

 

On March 21, 2007 at 00:15 hours, a vehicle driving down Kings Highway noticed smoke coming from the eves at the Mini Mall.  The driver went directly to Haddonfield’s Firehouse, located just around the corner, and reported the fire.  Taskforce 14 was dispatched to the Mini Mall for a building fire.  Chief Riggs arrived and reported a 2 story masonry building with heavy smoke showing.  Chief Riggs requested the all hands box transmitted adding an additional Engine, Ladder ,Rescue, Cascade and ISAT(Camden County Chiefs).  Engine 1411(Haddonfield) secured a water supply and layed in.  Cherry Hill’s Ladder arrived and assisted with Haddonfield firefighters in locating the fire.   Crews worked to located the fire in the cockloft of the structure.  An area approx. 3x3 was burning in the cockloft.  Crews used handlines to extinguish the blaze.  No firefighter injures were reported and no one was inside the structure at the time of the fire.The Camden County Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.  Units from Haddonfield, Westmont, Cherry Hill, Audubon, Barrington, and the Camden County Fire Police assisted in operations. 

 

   



 12-6-06 120 Jefferson Street - All Hands Dwelling

 

Task Force 14 was dispatched for a report of a dwelling fire at 120 Jefferson Street on December 6, 2006 around 5:30pm.Upon arrival, command reported a 2 1/2 story wood frame dwelling with fire showing in the basement as well as heavy smoke throughout.  Command struck the All Hands.  Companies from Haddonfield and Cherry Hill arrived and went in service with a 1.75" handline in the basement. Crews located the fire and went in operation to quickly extinguish it without extension.Searches of the dwelling were negative.  The homeowner arrived home while companies were operating on location.  Around the 30 minute mark the fire was placed under control.  No firefighter injuries were reported.

 

   

 



06-19-06 238 Ellis St. - 3rd Alarm Church Fire

 Task Force 14 was dispatched in Haddonfield for a report of a church fire at 238 Ellis St. on June 19, 2006Police  arrived and confirmed fire through the roof.  Command arrived and struck the 2nd alarm reporting a 2 1/2 story with heavy fire through the roof.  Crews stretched lines and set up a Tower Ladder.  Interior crews reported heavy fire in the attac area.  The 3rd alarm was sounded.  Crews battled the blaze in high heat as temp.'s were in the 90's. Interior crews were pulled out as the Tower Ladder went in service with a master stream from the bucket.  It was confirmed roofers were working on the church at the time of the fire.  No injuries were reported.  Units operation on location were Haddonfield, Cherry Hill, Haddon Heights, Westmont, Oaklyn. Lawnside, Bellmawr, and Audubon.  The fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals.

   

   



5-25-06 Washington Ave - All Hands Garage Fire

  What started out as a 911 hangup ended as an all hands garage fire.  The initial call to 911 was a hangup with no information given.  On the call back the caller reported some type of fire in the backyard.  Haddonfields Chief arrived to find a 2 story garage on fire in the rear of the proprty and requested the All Hands Box be filled out.Task Force 14( Haddonfield, Cherry Hill, Westmont and Haddon Heights) responded to the scene and went in operation with multiple hand lines.  The fire was placed under control around the 20 minute mark.  The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals.

   



01-29-05 279 Lake Ave - All Hands Dwelling

Around 1400 hrs on Saterday Task Force 14(Haddonfield,Cherry Hill,Westmont) was disaptched to 279 Lake St. in Haddonfield for a dwelling fire.  PD arrived and confirmed a working fire.  Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof.  Crews entered both sides of the twin to find heavy fire conditions in the attic.  Cherry Hill removed the chimney as well as cutting 2 holes in the rear of the roof.  Crews had the fire under control within 30 mins.  No injuries were obtained.  The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time by the Camden County Fire Marshals. 

   



01-03-05 312 Linden Ave

Around 1530 hrs. Task Force 14 (Haddonfield, Cherry Hill, Westmont) was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 312 Linden Ave. Upon arrival of station 14-1 command, heavy fire was showing from the rear of the dwelling. Crews contained the bulk of the fire to the kitchen area with minor extension. Fire was placed under control around the 40 minute mark. No injuries were reported. Fire started in the kitchen area.

   



2004 Summit Ave - 2 car accident leaves 1 trapped

Station 14-1, Rescue 15-1, ALS & BLS were dispatched for a MVA Rescue Assingment.  Upon arrival, crews found a car with minor damage, and an SUV on its side on a front lawn.  Crews extricated the driver of the SUV.  Accident occured when the SUV hit a parked car at a high rate of speed and lost control.
