9-27-08 Laurel Rd. - M.V.A Rescue

 

A BLS unit called in a M.V.A on Laurel Road in Lindenwold reporting a truck into a guardrail at 9:15 p.m .  Fire crews, EMS and Police were dispatched to the scene.  Command arrived and reported a 2 vehicle accident with 2 occupants trapped from a head on collision.  The rescue company went into operation with the tools as an additional Rescue Company, ALS unit and multiple BLS units were special called to the scene.  Crews worked to free the trapped occupants as one was reported to be unconscious.  Three BLS units and two ALS units transported the injured occupants to the hospital.  The Lindenwold Police Department has the crash under investigation.

08-03-06 Gibbsboro Rd. - Dwelling (Pics and Story by Bob Chester)

At 10:45 AM a maintenance worker for the Arborwood Condominiums on Gibbsboro Rd
discovered smoke coming from a condominium and discovered that the fire alarm
was activated. Camden County Communications dispatched District 63 (Lindenwold),
Ladder 611 (Clementon), Rescue 222 (West Berlin), and BLS 63. While enroute to
the incident ALS 41 was added to the box do to a report that the resident was
unaccounted for. Command arrived on location and confirmed smoke showing. Engine
6311 arrived and went in operation with search and rescue, and suppression,  a
water supply was obtained, and  additional crews went in operation with
ventilation. The resident was determined to be out at the time of the fire. The
fire was placed under control at the 10 minute mark, and contained to the
kitchen area. Command requested the Camden County Fire Marshals office for the
investigation.



12-30-05 401 Gibbsboro Rd. - Fatal Dwelling Fire

 Units were dispatched for a report of an apartment fire at 401 Gibbsboro Road around 9:30.Command arrived and confirmed smoke showing from a 2-story, garden-style apartment complex (end unit D-13).Engine 6311 led off with a 1.75-inch handline. Searches were performed and one occupant was pulled from the apartment. The fire victim was pronounced D.O.A at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshal's Office. No firefighter injuries were reported.
