1-11-09 1126 Tristram Circle- 2nd Alarm Dwelling

 

Crews were dispatched for a dwelling fire at 1126 Tristram Circle at 9:15 A.M.  Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the apartments.  Command struck the all hands on arrival.  Companies led off with a hand line to the rear as a water supply was being established. Interior crews reported extension into the exposures with heavy fire conditions.  A 2nd Alarm was transmitted.  Primary searches were negative as all occupants were able to escape.  The fire spread to a total of 8 units. One occupant received minor burns but refused treatment.  The American Red Cross was on location assisting the displaced occupants.    The fire is under investigation by the Gloucester County Fire Marshals.

 

   

 

 

   



1-11-08  MANTUA   401 Woodbury-Glassboro Rd. - Vehicle vs. Building

At 6:10 p.m. Mantua units were dispatched for a M.V.A Rescue Assignment at 401 Glassboro Woodbury Rd, the Fireside Family Restaurant.  Responding units were notified by Gloucester County Communications that a vehicle struck a building and had the driver still trapped in the vehicle.Units arrived to find a vehicle half way in a building with the driver out and not injured.Crews put down oil dry as the gas tank ruptured and was leaking gas.  Police stated the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a construction sign, a stop sign, and 2 parked cars in the lot before crashing through the building.  The driver was taken in for questioning.  The building inspector was called due to the damage of the restaurant.  The business was closed until further repairs could be made.  A civilian inside the restaurant eating stated she heard a loud crash and never heard any brakes.  She stated the staff hurried everyone outside of the building due to the gas leak.
