12-25-07 505 Highland Ave- 2nd Alarm Dwelling
Christmas morning units were dispatched for a dwelling fire at 505 Highland in Mortan Township with possible people trapped shortly before 1 a.m. Chief 11-9C arrived and reported a 2 story dwelling with heavy fire on the 1st floor. Crews went in to operation with multiple hand lines and performed searches. The 2nd alarm was sounded due to fire conditions. All occupants were out of the dwelling prior to Fire Department arrival. Multiple occupants were transported to local hospital for smoke inhalation. Crews battles heavy fire conditions on the 1st floor which extended to the 2nd. The fire was placed under control without any firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
