11-25-08 Valley Rd.- M.V.A Rescue

 

A Motor vehicle rescue assignment was dispatched in Mt. Ephraim at Valley Road at the County Park.  Mt. Ephraim’s Chief Gilmore arrived and reported a vehicle down an embankment with the occupant trapped.  Rescue 45 and went into operation with struts as the vehicle was unstable and close to the edge of the creek.  Once the vehicle was secured the crews worked with EMS to remove the pt.  The victim was transported to an area hospital.  The Camden County Park Police have the cause of the crash under investigation. 

 

 

 

 



6-11-08 MT. EPHRAIM- 5 Valley Rd   All Hands Dwelling

A dwelling fire was dispatched in Mt. Ephraim at 5 Valley Road at 5:16 A.M.  Police notified Central Communications of possible entrapment but it was confirmed the occupant was transported to the hospital the previous day and not yet released.  CFC 1 arrived and confirmed a 1 ˝ story, single family dwelling with heavy fire showing.  Mt. Ephraim Command arrived and struck the all hands.  Engine 452 arrived and went in operation with a 2 1/2” hand line.  Command ordered the evacuation tones due to knowledge of poor interior conditions of the dwelling.  Multiple hand lines were placed in operation to knock the fire down quickly.  No injuries were reported on the fire ground.  The Camden County Fire Marshals Office have the fire under investigation at this time.

 

   



1-5-08 MT. EPHRAIM   209 Black Horse Pike -  Fatal M.V.A

On Saturday January 5th 2008, a M.V.A Rescue Assignment was dispatched in front of 209 Black Horse Pike at 4:42 AM on the border of Haddon Heights and Mt. Ephraim  Audubon’s Chief, 102 arrived and reported a SUV vs. a tractor trailer with 2 people heavily entrapped at 4:43.Three minutes later Command reported 1 possible DOA and the 2nd entrapped.  At the 10 minute mark Command reported Rescue 45 was in operation removing the passenger from the SUV as the Engine Company was in operation controlling the ruptured fuel tank of the Tractor Trailer.  At 04:56 the passenger was extricated from the vehicle and transported by ALS and BLS to Cooper Trauma Unit in Camden City.  The driver of the vehicle was pronounced on scene.  The Engine Company controlled the appox 130 gallons of diesel spill.  The Roadway was shut down for several hours as the Police Fatal Investigation Team performed their investigation. 

 

 

 



7-12-07 - 414 Black Horse Pike- All Hands Dwelling

 

A dwelling with reported people trapped was transmitted shortly after midnight.  Command arrived and reported a 2 story building with a business on the 1st and apartments above with heavy smoke showing from the 2nd floor striking the all hands.   Searches were performed upon arrival to show up negative.  Crews were in operation with a 1 3/4” hand line followed by a backup line.  All occupants were accounted for on the fire ground.  Crews quickly contained the blaze to the 2nd floor.  The fire was placed under control around the 20 minute mark.  No firefighter injuries were reported on the fire ground.

 

   



02-14-05 27 Grant Ave - All Hands Dwelling

Mt. Ephraim box went out for a dwelling fire at 450 Grant Ave.  First arriving units found heavy fire on the 1st floor.  Mutual aid from Gloucester City, Bellmawr and Runnemede.
