1-21-10 1109 Wesley Ave- All Hands Dwelling

Crews were dispatched at 7:05 A.M.,for a reported dwelling fire.  Crews arrived to find a 1 story, wood frame single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing.   National Park command struck the All Hands. Crews went into operation with multiple hand lines as the roof was opened up.  The evacuation tones were sounded as interior crews reported the conditions worsening.  All firefighters were out of the building and accounted for as master streams were placed in operation. EMS treated and transported two occupants from the dwelling with chest pain and respiratory distress. The fire was placed under control just under 1 hour.  No injuries to firefighters were reported.  National Park command reported the fire to have started in the basement which extended to the 1st floor.  The Gloucester County Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation. 

   

 

   

 

 



10-25-06   300 New Jersey Ave- Dwelling

Task force 8( National Park, Woodbury, Westville) were dispatched to 300 New Jersey Ave for a Dwelling with possible entrapment around 1230 p.m. on October 25, 2006.Units from Westville and Woodbury, arriving at the same time found a 1 1/2 story wood frame dwelling, with heavy fire and smoke showing. Command struck the all hands on arrival. Westville grabbed National Parks's Engine 811's supply line and secured a water supply. Crews set up for defensive operations.Police confirmed that all occupants were accounted for. Both occupants were home at the time of the blaze. Crews faced heavy fire conditions throughout the dwelling with wind conditions fueling the blaze. Extensive mutual aid was called to the scene from Gloucester and Camden County to assist in fire operations.Approx 1 1/2 hour into the job, all visible fire had been knocked down.The fire is under investigation at the present time.
