6-28-07 506 Cinnsaminson Ave - 2nd Alarm Dwelling

 

On June 28th, a box was transmitted in Palmyra for a reported dwelling at 506 Cinnaminson Ave around 3:30 pm on a hot day with temperatures in the upper 90’s.  Command arrived on location and reported a 2 story ordinary constructed multi family dwelling with heavy smoke showing.  The first arriving Engine Company was advised to secure a water supply and lay in.  Minutes later Command received reports that not all occupants were accounted for.  Additional EMS was requested as well as a 2nd alarm.  At 1550 Command reported searches were reported to be negative as all occupants were accounted for, and companies were making good progress with multiple hand lines in operation.  The fire was placed under control around the 30 minute mark.No injuries were reported on the fire ground.  The fire is under investigation at this time. 

 

   



12-19-06 1011 Garfield Ave - 3rd Alarm Dwelling

 

PALMYRA,NJ- Companies were dispatched to 1011 Garfield Ave for a reported dwelling fire around 2 pm on December 19, 2006.Burlington County Communications advised units they were receiving a call from the homeowner of a kitchen fire.First arriving companies arrived and reported a 2 story dwelling with heavy fire showing division C-D corner.  Companies led off with a 1.75” handline.  Crews knocked down the kitchen and checked for extension.  Crews found the fire to have extended in the walls and had heavy smoke throughout the dwelling.  Crews opened walls to find heavy fire.  Command struck the 2nd alarm. Mutual aid from Burlington County as well as Camden County worked to control the blaze.  Companies were called from their cover assignments to the scene for manpower.  Crews battled the blaze for approx. 90 minutes before command placed the fire under control.One firefighter was transported to an area hospital for injuries obtained during the fire. The dwelling was occupied at the time with no report of injury to the homeowners.  The fire is under investigation at this time.

 

   

 

   

 

 



11-5-06 703 S. Route 73- Building (Pics and story by Greg Taylor)

The morning of November 5, 2006 at approx 0645 Hrs, Palmyra, and Riverton Firefighters were alerted to 703 South Route 73 at the Budget Rent-A-Car for reported smoke showing from the building.  While en-route Palmyra Command, 8000 was advised that PD was onlocation reporting heavy smoke showing from the building.  Command arrived and confirmed the same and requested All Companies in Service.  Crews attacked the fire with 3 handlines and Rivertons Ladder, 2415 for roof ventilation.  RIT teams from Riverside and Moorestown were also dispatched to the scene to assist.  The fire was placed under control within 30 mins of dispatch.  No reported injuries or cause were available, but are under investigation by the Palmyra Fire Investigators.

   



01-10-06 W. Broad St. - All Hands Dwelling

 Palmyra firefighters were dispatched for a report of a dwelling fire on West Broad Street on Tuesday, January 10, 2006. Command arrived to find a 3-story dwelling with heavy smoke showing. Crews made entry to find heavy fire on the third floor, which they quickly controlled. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
