2-12-07 948 S. Broadway- 4th Alarm Building

 Units were dispatched to 948 S. Broadway for a reported building fire at Del Val Tires on February 12, 2007 around 9:57 pm. First arriving units encountered heavy fire conditions. Command arrived and struck the all hands and special called 3 tankers. Minutes later the Large Diameter task force was dispatched as well as foam units. Crews battles the building which was fully involved as well as hundreds of piles of tires located outside the building. The 2nd alarm was transmitted as well as the 3rd alarm approx. 1 hour into the job.Crews had 3 Ladder Pipes set up and put in operation as well as multiple hand lines. The 4th Alarm was transmitted shortly after midnight. Crews fought the blaze for hours. Visible fire was seen for miles. The owner of the business stated she never expected a fire like this to break out in her building.The fire was placed under control around 2 am.
