08-25-05 Cross Keys- New Freedom Rd. - Trench Rescue
Pine Hill units were notified shortly after 0930 hrs on August 25, 2005 for a trench rescue assingment. Crews arrived to find a man stuck in a hole. Crews special called Technical Rescue Companies from Waterford Township and Gloucester City. Rescues throughout the area were called to the scene as well as Camden City's Rescue 1, Field Com. 1, and Cherry Hill's rehab unit. Multiple engine companies were called to the scene for manpower assistance. ALS and BLS staged on scene. Crews worked to create stabalize the escavation hole. The trapped occupant was conscious, alert and not injured. Crews worked to hook a class 3 harness up to the pt. and extricate him from the hole. Officials stated he was a developer, using a crane to test the stability of the land. The developer ran in to trouble when the side walls collapsed, leaving him trapped. The occupant was trapped up to his chest in fill dirt. Crews completed the extrication around the 1 1/2 mark. No firefighter injuries occured.
