3-6-07 1325 Kings Highway- 3rd Alarm Dwelling

Units were dispatched for a dwelling fire at 1325 Kings Highway on March 6, 2007 at 1030pm.  Command, 2500, arrived and reported a 4 story multi family dwelling with heavy smoke showing.  The 2^nd alarm was sounded on arrival.Crews went in operation with handlines on the first floor to find heavy fire conditions.  The fire had extended on each floor forcing crews out of the dwelling and to go in defensive operations.  The evacuation tones were sounded and all firefighters were accounted for outside the dwelling. Master streams were set up and placed in operation on each side of the dwelling as fire was showing through the roof.  At midnight command reported multiple master streams in operations with fire conditions still present.  Crews remained on location through the night still in operation with master streams.  At 2 am Command reported the municipality water system to be drained dry and crews were looking for sources to start drafting.  Crews established a water supply at a local lake with tankers in operation as well. The fire is under investigation as a possible arson fire.
