1-20-09 Hurfville Rd.- Dwelling (photos and info by Edan Davis)

At 1:26pm Washington Township distict 10 was dispatched to Hurffville rd. for a dwelling. Engine 10-11 arrived with heavy fire showing.

Due to the heavy fire conditions all interior crews were evacuated and master streams were placed in service.

As fire started to come through the roof command requested ladders 10-16 and 10-26 to be placed in sevice. The fire was placed under control in about 2 hours.

 



11-26-07 700 Delsea Dr.- Building Fire

 

At 9:15 am a building fire was dispatched at 700 Delsea Drive in Washington Township.  Companies arrived to find a building with heavy smoke showing from the roof.  The All Hands was sounded on arrival.  Companies entered the building to find heavy fire conditions inside.  Crews went in operation with multiple hand lines.A witness stated he say smoke coming from the half way open garage door.  He ran over and looked inside to see fire conditions inside.  The witness stated the building was used as a machine shop which filed bankrupt and was up for auction today.  The fire was placed under control without any injuries.  The Gloucester County Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation at this time.

 

 

   



9-1-07 221 Myrtle Ave - Dwelling

 

Units were dispatched for a dwelling on Myrtle Ave at 3 a.m.  Washington Township EMS located near the street reported heavy smoke in the area from the station.Command 10-301 arrived and reported a 1 ˝ story single family dwelling with heavy fire through the roof.   Command reported a defensive attack only due to heavy fire conditions.  Command reported 2 2 ˝”  hand lines in operation as well as a 1 3/4” as crews prepared to place the aerial device in operation. The fire was knocked down and placed under control approx 45 minutes into the job.No injuries were reported.  The occupants were reported to be away for the weekend.

02-15-03 5901 Black Horse Pike - 3 alarm building fire

First arriving units found heavy smoke showing from the 1 story occupied restaurant. The 2nd alarm was sounded on arrival. Crews found heavy fire in the walls spreading to the ceiling and performed an interior attack. The fire quickly spread and became fully involved in minutes. Three ladder pipes were placed in operation along with numerous deck guns. Numerous mutual aid co's were requested to the scene. The 3rd alarm was sounded well into the job. The building was a total loss.  The origin of the fire was started in the kitchen by a greese fire.
